The Western Motor Tariff Bureau membership Information
WMTB represents more than 400 member carriers throughout the State of Hawaii, including passenger and property motor carriers. WMTB provides tariffs for Household Goods, General Commodities, Dump Truck Commodities, and Passenger carriers. We prepare tariff information for some of the biggest transportation and trucking businesses on all of the Hawaiian Islands. We are also proud to have local family owned and operated companies apart of our membership.
WHY JOIN?
To engage in transportation services for compensation in the State of Hawaii, motor carriers are required to be certificated and submit and maintain a tariff with the Public Utilities Commission. By joining WMTB you will become an automatic subscriber to our published tariffs which contain our rates and rules that allow you to legally operate in the regulatory environment of the State. Our members are recognized as certificated, insured, dependable common carrier’s ready for hire with insured drivers and reliable service. As a member of WMTB you will be joining a community of experienced carriers that is protected by antitrust exemption under the regulatory powers of the Public Utilities Commission. With over 400 participating member carriers, you will have the opportunity to get involved and connect with industry peers through our annual conference meetings, conference committee meetings and board meetings. HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?
To become a member of WMTB you must be engaged in business as a common carrier by motor vehicle. You should have a PUC license or be in the process of receiving one. If you meet these requirements please click below to apply.
